We are recruiting an experienced Building Automation / HVAC Controls professional for a growing organization specializing in Building Automation Systems, Energy Management Systems, and HVAC Controls throughout South Florida.
This role is ideal for someone who can do more than install or service controls. We are looking for a hands-on BAS professional with experience programming, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Management Systems (BMS) in commercial HVAC environments.
Program, configure, modify, and troubleshoot Building Automation and Building Management Systems.
Set up and commission BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and related control devices.
Modify control logic, sequences, setpoints, schedules, alarms, and system parameters.
Perform system startups, point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and commissioning.
Calibrate sensors and fine-tune control loops for proper HVAC system operation and energy efficiency.
Diagnose problems involving HVAC controls, controllers, sensors, actuators, communication networks, and connected equipment.
Install, wire, configure, and integrate new controls and communication devices.
Troubleshoot low-voltage control wiring and BAS communication issues.
Support system upgrades, expansions, software updates, backups, and database maintenance.
Work with IP-based building networks and communication protocols used within BAS environments.
Maintain accurate field service reports, timesheets, and project documentation.
Communicate professionally with customers, facility teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
The most important requirement is hands-on BAS/BMS programming and setup experience.
We want someone who has personally worked inside building automation systems—not someone whose background is limited to traditional HVAC service, mechanical maintenance, or pulling controls wiring.

You should also have experience with:
BAS controller programming and configuration
HVAC control sequences and control logic
Building Management Systems
HVAC equipment integration
Low-voltage electrical and control circuits
Sensors, actuators, controllers, and control panels
BAS communications and IP networking
System troubleshooting and diagnostics
Startup and commissioning
Electrical meters and diagnostic equipment
Experience with protocols such as BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, or similar building-control communications is highly desirable.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working independently in customer facilities and active jobsites
Able to work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, and from ladders when required
Strong customer-service and communication skills
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple service calls or projects
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening
Willingness to travel locally as required to support customer sites
Technical degree, trade-school training, controls certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
$38–$43 per hour, depending on experience, BAS platform knowledge, and technical capabilities.
