Job summary

Johnson Controls in Milwaukee, WI, seeks a Controls Project Engineer to support the design, configuration, and implementation of building automation for HVAC, fire, security and other low‑voltage systems. You will work closely with project, engineering, sales and field teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.

You will develop control solutions using AutoCAD, BIM, and other tools from design through commissioning, while producing drawings, BOMs, and documentation for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM.
• Attention to detail and strong organization.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to support documentation and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and configuring building automation.
• Develop control drawings, flow diagrams, BOMs, network layouts, and schematics.
• Support the development, testing, and modification of software programs.
• Prepare drawings, equipment schedules, and documentation for submittals.
• Help coordinate ordering and tracking of materials.
• Support field teams during controller loading and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and system issues.
• Document field changes and maintain as-built drawings and records.
• Communicate project status and technical information to teams and customers.
• Participate in turnover and release meetings.
• Support customer training and provide technical assistance.
