Job summary

Seattle University is seeking a Budget Manager to partner with the Dean in developing and managing the College’s annual operating budget in line with strategic priorities. The role covers budget oversight across departments, endowed and gift funds, payroll, and faculty start-up funds, with strong reporting and reconciliation responsibilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating faculty contracts, adjunct appointments, procurement, and financial processes, plus training staff on budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field plus at least 3 years' experience.
• Ability to oversee multiple budgets, generate reports, and manage spreadsheets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse groups effectively.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and submit an annual operating budget based on the college's strategic plan.
• Project faculty FTE needs based on curriculum offerings.
• Develop and maintain funding requests and new program budgets.
• Re-allocate budgets among departments and monitor expenditures.
• Provide regular budget analysis and customized reports for stakeholders.
• Oversee purchasing for departmental annual capital equipment allocations and start-up accounts.
• Coordinate payroll reconciliation and adjunct contracts; assist with onboarding.
