The Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences at NC State University seeks an Accountant to serve as a key financial steward. You will manage funds, including state appropriations, discretionary funds, grants, gifts, and service centers, ensuring fiscal integrity and budgeting in partnership with the CVM Business Office.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of accounting and budgetary principles, GAAP.
• Experience with university financial systems (WRS, PeopleSoft).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts and prepare annual financial reports for faculty.
• Direct year-end closeouts and oversee payroll salary distributions.
• Review vendor registrations and P-card reconciliations for policy compliance.
• Guide faculty through travel processes and approve travel reimbursements.
