Xylem Tree Experts in the Springfield, MA area is seeking a Bucket Operator to trim, prune, and remove trees using bucket trucks and related equipment. You will perform professional tree maintenance under supervision, prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The role demands physical fitness, ability to work at heights, knowledge of knots and rigging, and willingness to engage in storm restoration work. Benefits include health insurance and a 401K where offered.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging used in tree trimming and removal.
• Must identify tree species.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and operating procedures near conductors.
• Must work at considerable heights under variable weather conditions.
• Must have physical strength, balance, depth perception, and hearing.
• Must obtain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must administer emergency rescue techniques including tree rescue.
• Must wear PPE and travel for storm work when needed.
• Background check and drug screen may be required; meet I-9/E-Verify requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and help enforce rules.
• Prepare truck and materials daily as directed.
• Perform professional tree maintenance as directed.
• Clear and trim around utility lines; remove debris.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Maintain and track tools and equipment.
• Observe and improve climbing and tree maintenance skills.
• Assist other crew members in daily activities.
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards; enforce safe practices.
• Perform storm work duties as needed.
