Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Bucket Operator to operate heavy equipment and manage vegetation removal from electrical lines. The role requires climbing, bucket truck operation, and adherence to safety rules. Valid CDL/DOT familiarity is required, and overtime may be needed in storm situations.

The position is full-time with benefits. A driver's license is required, and experience in utility vegetation management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must know daily maintenance and safe operation of all equipment
• Physically strong with good balance to climb into and around mobile equipment
• Ability to enter/exit a vehicle multiple times daily
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
• Must wear necessary PPE
• Must have/maintain a driver’s license; CDL and DOT Medical Card required for trucks over 26,000 lbs
• Able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work when needed
• Pass background check and drug screen as required

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and enforce them
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools
• Assist crew and take leadership when required
• Clean up and dispose of debris
• Set up barriers, signs, and safety markers
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
