Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Foreman to lead a 2-5 person tree crew for utility pruning and removal projects. You’ll work on-site at Cypress, TX (and nearby locations), ensuring safe, skillful execution and adherence to safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, equipment operation, and mentoring of newer staff. Advancement and travel with an employee-owned company culture are offered as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Required: Bucket Truck Operator experience.
• Required: Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B without air brake restriction.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities, safely and skillfully.
• Prune treetops; repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.

Job Duties

WhatYou’llDo:

• Lead a2-5 persontree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
