Job summary

The Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Nashville, TN seeks a Foreman/Foreperson to supervise crews performing utility line clearance and tree care for major electric utility providers.

Responsibilities include directing crew members, managing equipment, and ensuring safe, efficient completion of pruning, trimming, and removal work. Requires crewmember supervision and technical operation of tools; CDL preferred depending on job requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required depending on job requirements.
• Pesticide license if required by state law.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide crew supervision and oversee line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops, trim or remove damaged trees, and remove broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects.
• Direct crew members and equipment, plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
• Supervise and assist in maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Operate as part of a crew with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers

Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects

Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks

Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts

Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required, depending on job requirements

Certificates and Licenses if necessary

Pesticide license, if required by state law

Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines

ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
