Qualifications

• No prior teaching experience required; Faculty Development training provided.
• Must hold a valid, active RN license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher degree with coursework in nursing or education/administration (OB, Pediatrics, Psychiatry).
• At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• Clinical experience within the last five years; teaching experience counts toward direct patient care.
• Expertise in Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, OB-Gyn, or Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with instructors to prepare, administer, and grade examinations for the course; participates in final evaluations.
• Ensures class attendance and grades are kept and submitted.
• Plans and implements orientation of new faculty in theory and clinical facilities.
• Utilizes adult learning principles in instruction and continually improves teaching quality.
• Maintains student records and assists with program data collection.
• Supports clinical experiences and supervises student activities in health care facilities.
