Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.

Job description

  • Oversee brownfield redevelopment and technical assistance initiatives
  • Facilitate community meetings on project design

  • Help communities establish environmental, community, and economic development initiatives
  • Lead the implementation of site-specific and community-wide technical assistance
  • Assist with proposal development
  • Facilitate meetings with project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other staff and partners to provide comprehensive technical assistance (TA)
  • Responds to inquiries and independently resolves matters of moderate complexity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Geography or related disciplines
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in project experience, conceptual design development, public speaking, and/or community outreach
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Project management skills including the ability to keep multiple projects on schedule.
  • Organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to plan work activities and independently maintain schedules, recordkeeping of program and project documents and files, and reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow RFP guidelines and compile accurate, complete proposal packages for submission to sponsoring agencies.
  • Ability to manage subordinates to successfully complete assigned work tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Skilled at timeline development.
  • Proactive outreach skills for contacting communities and resource organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills including a high proficiency in English grammar, composition, and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with computer software including: MS Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to be flexible in working with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to write progress/final reports, case histories, newsletters, and information briefs.
  • Ability to interface with state, federal, university, and community representatives on project tasks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ability to lead meetings, give presentations to sponsoring agencies, county commission meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Ability to travel independently via car, air, or public transportation to communities and project sites.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal managerial oversight.
  • Ability to critique project deliverables and ascertain whether they meet work plan objectives.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret maps, design documents technical procedure documents and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
