Job summary

ACMH INC, based in Bronx Supportive Apartment (BSA) in New York, is seeking a Peer Program Specialist to provide direct in-home services and assist clients in developing daily living skills. The role emphasizes lived experience and recovery-focused support to help reduce reliance on emergency services.

The position reports to the Program Director and runs Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. A NY Peer Program certification is preferred, with a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homelessness services is required or strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Basic computer and data entry skills are required.
• Completion of NYS NYCPS certification is preferred (not mandatory).
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct service to clients in their homes, assisting with training in skills of daily living.
• Teaches skills for personal hygiene, budgeting, meal planning, and apartment upkeep.
• Monitors maintenance and safety of living units and reports issues to supervisor.
• Documents services rendered and client progress in a timely manner.
