Job summary

Altius Talent | Freight Forwarding Recruitment in New York seeks a Brokerage Manager to lead the customs brokerage department, ensure entry accuracy, and drive compliance and team performance. As a licensed broker, you will oversee daily filing operations and guide the entry team.

You will supervise the team, oversee ACE filings, advise clients on tariff changes, and report KPIs to senior leadership with a focus on continuous process improvements and client service.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
• Minimum 5 years in customs brokerage; 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation and CBP rules.
• Experience with ACE, ABI, and PGA filings.
• Proven leadership and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of entry writers, brokers and staff; set priorities.
• Oversee entry filings through ACE.
• Review entries for classification, valuation, and country-of-origin accuracy.
• Serve as broker of record under CBP regulations.
• Manage PGA/ISF filings and in-bond movements.
• Respond to CBP requests and penalties or actions.
• Monitor compliance programs and audits.
• Advise on tariff changes and trade programs.
• Track KPIs and report to senior leadership.
• Partner with sales and operations on new business and onboarding.
• Drive process improvements in the brokerage system (CargoWise or similar).
