Licensed Customs Broker
Step into a key leadership role with a forwarder that is expanding its customs brokerage and international trade compliance capabilities in Houston. As a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), you will oversee entry operations, manage compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA), and act as the subject matter expert on all import-related regulations.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact position for an experienced broker who thrives on accuracy, client service, and compliance. You will lead a team of customs entry writers, ensure timely and accurate filings, and safeguard clients against risk in their global supply chains. With diverse commodities including chemicals, automotive, electronics, perishables, and industrial cargo, you’ll gain exposure across multiple trade lanes including Transpacific, Transatlantic, and Latin America.
Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the company’s Licensed Customs Broker of Record, ensuring full compliance with CBP regulations, FMC requirements, and Partner Government Agencies
- Oversee classification and entry writing, including HTSUS classification, ISF filings, ABI entries, and CF28/CF29 responses
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of customs entry writers and compliance staff
- Communicate with CBP, FDA, USDA, EPA, and other agencies to resolve clearance issues
- Support clients with compliance guidance, Incoterms application, duty drawback, and trade programs (C-TPAT, FTZ, Section 321, USMCA)
- Provide internal compliance training and support audits
What You Bring
- Active Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) license
- 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, compliance, and import management
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification, PGA requirements, and U.S. import regulations
- Proficiency in CargoWise, Descartes, Magaya, or similar customs platforms
- Leadership skills with experience managing entry writers or customs staff
- Excellent client-facing communication and problem-solving abilities
