Nationwide in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Underwriter in Brokerage Casualty for our Excess & Surplus/Specialty lines. You will determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, and terms by analyzing exposures on risks of basic technical complexity for the Primary Casualty line.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn job-related computer software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Review risks from brokers and decide on acceptance based on information available.
• Work to achieve production and loss ratio goals through broker management and marketing.
• Handle policy maintenance items, endorsements, and changes to the policy; review loss control reports.
