Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Broker Commissions Advisor in Houston, TX. You will act as the subject matter expert for broker commissions, oversee payments, and ensure data integrity across ENGIE source systems and broker software.

You will coordinate with Sales, Accounting, Finance, Billing, Operations, IT, and external vendors to resolve complex issues, drive process improvements, and support audit readiness. This hybrid role requires 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years in retail energy.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in commissions, finance ops, sales ops, accounting, or related analytical roles.
• Advanced Excel with data analytics, pivots, macros; SQL/Power BI/SAP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of broker commission structures, true-ups, clawbacks, and net negative concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on broker commissions, payments, and exceptions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to meet departmental objectives.
• Serve as primary contact for Broker Master Data requests and ensure internal controls.
• Validate broker commission data from ENGIE systems and broker software for accuracy.
• Process monthly and out-of-cycle broker payments per Delegation of Authority.
• Investigate complex discrepancies with Sales, Accounting, Finance, Billing, IT, and vendors.
• Prepare reconciliations, variance reports, and audit-ready documentation.
• Support system enhancements, data migration, and future-state processes for commissions.
• Evaluate exception requests for feasibility, exposure, and policy alignment.
• Document approvals and rationale; mentor analysts on issues and methods.
• Drive process improvements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and broker experience.
