Job summary

The Jonus Group is seeking a motivated Broker / Binding Underwriter to join our production team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will manage a profitable book of business and maintain strong carrier and agency relationships to drive growth.

Open to experienced professionals or rising stars with a proven track record in underwriting, sales, and risk assessment. This role requires travel to agency locations and collaboration across departments to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

Profitable book of business and strong industry connections.
Experience in wholesale or retail brokers is encouraged.
Background in Risk Management, Insurance or Sales.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and select new business and renewal accounts in line with underwriting philosophy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners.
Educate agents on risk selection philosophy and pricing guidelines.
Monitor performance metrics and written-to-quoted ratios.
Identify and pursue sales opportunities to grow the company.
Conduct field underwriting and quoting as needed, including travel to agency locations.
Review claims activity and inspections; take appropriate action.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve policy issues.
Delegate tasks to assistants as necessary.
