Job summary

College of the Desert is seeking adjunct instructors to participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating courses that support student growth and the college’s mission.

The primary modality is in-person teaching with assignments at Palm Desert Campus and other COD locations (Indio, Mecca/Thermal, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs). Classes may run day, evening, or weekend and include online elements when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: bachelor’s degree or higher; two years of professional experience, or associate degree plus six years of professional experience.
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

• Meet assigned class/lab times.
• Develop and implement instruction aligned with official course outlines.
• Distribute a clear syllabus detailing objectives and policies.
• Evaluate student progress and assign grades as per policy.
• Fulfill duties per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Complete required records and reporting in a timely manner.
