Newsmax Media Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced broadcast engineer and facilities technician to join a fast-paced, 24/7 news operation.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain broadcast and facility systems, support control rooms and technical spaces, and coordinate with engineers, vendors, and contractors. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, a technical degree or trade cert, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of broadcast engineering, technical facilities, or equivalent hands-on experience required.
  • Working knowledge of television broadcast equipment and production systems.
  • Understanding of broadcast audio, video, control systems, networking, RF, and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical solutions.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform repairs and installations.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on television broadcast equipment, computers, networks, and facility systems.
  • Maintain studios, control rooms, technical spaces, equipment rooms, and general facility infrastructure.
  • Support cameras, audio/video systems, routers, servers, RF systems, control systems, and broadcast networks.
  • Perform general facility repairs, installations, equipment moves, cabling, mounting, and modifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, building management, vendors, and contractors.
  • Document equipment issues, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system anomalies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe technical and facility environment.
