Job summary

VHB is seeking a Structural Designer - Engineer (Bridge and Transportation) for a hybrid, full-time role in Boston. You will contribute to major bridge and transportation projects, supporting engineers and preparing construction documents.

The position requires 3+ years in bridge/transportation work, a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Master’s possible), and an EIT with PE preferred. You will work with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Mathcad, and structural software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in Bridge/Transportation projects required.
• B.S. Civil Engineering (1-2 years may be substituted for a Master's degree).
• EIT expected, PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on major bridge and other complex transportation projects
• Provide technical support/mentorship to junior structural engineering staff
• Perform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructure
• Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation.
• Perform quality control reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.
