Job summary

BKF seeks a Bridge & Structures CADD Designer / Drafter to develop clear plans for bridges and transportation structures. You will turn design concepts and sketches into coordinated plan sets and 3D models under engineers’ guidance.

Join BKF to contribute to Caltrans and local agency projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across offices. A strong CADD background and knowledge of bridge detailing are essential.

Qualifications

• AS degree or higher in drafting or civil engineering tech
• 5+ years of professional CADD experience (bridges/transportation)
• Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD; OpenRoads/Civil 3D
• Knowledge of bridge plan conventions; read sketches and roadway data
• Experience producing coordinated plan sets to client/public agency standards

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise bridge/structural plans, elevations, sections and details
• Develop sheet sets from alignments, survey data, and markup files
• Apply Caltrans and other standards to file organization and deliverables
• Check drawings for completeness, dimensions, references; incorporate comments
• Create or contribute to 3D bridge/structural models as needed
• Maintain project files and coordinate drawing production with engineers
