Job summary

BKF, a multi-service infrastructure consulting firm, seeks a Bridge & Structures CADD Designer/Drafter in California to develop clear construction plans for bridges and related transportation structures. You will work with engineers to turn concepts, sketches, and review comments into coordinated plan sets and 3D models for Caltrans and local agencies.

Responsibilities include preparing plan sets, coordinating interfaces, applying standards, and producing 3D models as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional CADD experience with bridge/transportation plans
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD; experience with OpenRoads Design and Civil 3D
• Knowledge of bridge plan conventions; ability to interpret sketches and survey data

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise bridge and structural plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules for design and construction support
• Develop sheet sets from alignments, survey data, base files and markups; coordinate interfaces with roadways, drainage, utilities and geotech teams
• Apply Caltrans and client CADD standards to file organization, references, levels/layers, annotation and deliverables
• Check drawings for completeness and implement review comments; support quantity takeoffs and revisions
• Create or contribute to 3D bridge and structural models; produce model-based views and quantities
• Maintain organized project files and coordinate drawing production with engineers and other draft staff; mentor less experienced drafters
