Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Bridge & Structures CADD Designer / Drafter to develop clear construction plans for bridges and related structures. You will work with engineers to turn concepts into coordinated plan sets and 3D models, supporting Caltrans and local agencies.

Requirements include an AS degree or higher in drafting or related field and 5+ years of CADD experience with bridge projects; strong Bentley and Autodesk skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional CADD experience producing bridge or transportation structural plans.
• Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD; experienced with OpenRoads/Civil 3D.
• Ability to interpret sketches, roadway geometry, survey information and comments.
• Experience delivering coordinated plan sets to client/public agency standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with licensed engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise bridge/structural plans, elevations, sections, and schedules.
• Develop sheet sets from alignments, surveys, and utility data; coordinate interfaces.
• Apply Caltrans and agency standards to file organization and deliverables.
• Check drawings for completeness, consistency, and constructability; incorporate reviews.
• Create or contribute to 3D bridge/structural models and model-based views.
• Maintain organized project files and coordinate production with engineers.
