Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform skilled construction, repair, and maintenance work on transportation structures. This hands-on role uses advanced trade skills to support projects across the region.

You will work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch, and hours may vary for winter operations. A valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License is required, and two to four years of related

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance with at least two trades (building, electrical, or mechanical) or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled construction, repair, and maintenance work that supports transportation operations.
Bridge duties include tying rebar, pouring concrete, building forms, and waterproofing.
Construction skills such as measuring, cutting, placing materials, framing and finish carpentry.
Operate motorized and non-motorized tools including chainsaws, jack hammers, tampers, and mowers.
Maintain safety by following procedures, reporting injuries and hazards, and using protective equipment.
Follow attendance rules, maintain work schedules, and support overtime/emergency responses.
Implement environmental protection requirements and attend environmental training.
