Job summary

KPFF Spokane is offering a Summer 2027 Bridge Structural Engineering Internship in Spokane, WA. The intern will join the Civil/Structural Team to solve real design problems, assist with calculations and plan production, and gain exposure to field observations and project development.

You will work on bridge projects and related tasks, traveling to sites and integrating into a professional team. On-site work and professional growth opportunities are emphasized throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering (BSCE/MSCE).
• Two or more design courses completed (concrete, steel, wood, or masonry) by start of 2027 internship.
• Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers in solving design problems and achieving project goals.
• Support engineers and CAD staff with calculations, plan production and reviews.
• Use engineering/design software to contribute to project development.
• Travel to project sites to observe conditions and construction.
• Engage with federal, state, and local regulations in project work.
• Collaborate in a vibrant, inclusive team environment and intern networking programs.
