Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Boise, Idaho invites motivated civil or structural engineering students to join as a Bridge Engineering Intern this summer. Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Completed statics and mechanics of materials coursework by the start of the internship
• Completed at least two design courses (concrete, steel, etc.) by the start of the internship
• Basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals (free-body diagrams, shear, axial, moment)
• Interest in bridge engineering and infrastructure design
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate coursework
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with ability to work collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Assist with analysis and design of bridge components under licensed engineers
• Prepare and check engineering calculations, design sketches, quantities, and documentation
• Support development of plans and CAD deliverables
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other disciplines to understand constraints and develop practical solutions
• Contribute to team discussions, quality-control reviews, and problem-solving efforts
• Participate in Weekly Intern Training Series and mentoring opportunities
