Job summary
WSP in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our Transportation Team. You will assist in the analysis, design, and evaluation of highway, rail, pedestrian, and other transportation structures under guidance from senior engineers.
You will develop models, perform basic structural analysis, assist with inspection reports, prepare design documents, and contribute to project meetings while upholding safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of post-education engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training certification preferred.
- Knowledge of structural principles and design/build processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and evaluate transportation structures under supervision.
- Develop structural models and perform basic analysis.
- Assist with bridge design plans, specifications, and reports.
- Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and related structures.
- Prepare inspection and load rating reports and rehabilitation recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate findings clearly.
