Job summary

Dewberry seeks a Staff Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join its Boston, MA office. You’ll design bridges (steel/concrete) and other transportation structures, prepare estimates and specs, and support construction.

The role offers growth and exposure to the latest tech in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering with 2+ years in bridge engineering, with EIT preferred, and experience with STAAD, MathCad, Tedds, RISA, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of bridge engineering experience.
• EIT preferred.
• Ability to perform field inspections.
• Preference for knowledge of STAAD, MathCad, Tedds, RISA, or similar analysis programs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates aspects of work; performs analysis and design.
• Prepares scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
• Assists with proposals to provide professional services.
• Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, over water, and near traffic.
• Operate inspection instruments.
• Conduct site visits around New England; coordinate with other departments; track project progress; perform construction control and inspection.
• Possible shop drawing review; bridge/tunnel inspection team member; inspection report assembly; building modification designs.
