Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Bridge Project Designer in Sioux Falls, SD to lead design efforts for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation structures. You will guide planning, budgeting, and scheduling while mentoring teammates and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet client expectations.

The role emphasizes safety, code compliance, and applying state and local design criteria as part of an integrated transportation and public works team.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent required
• 5 years minimum, 6 preferred in building design consulting
• Basic understanding of AASHTO LRFD and state DOT design manuals
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design, detailing, and drafting for bridges and other transportation structures.
• Lead design efforts for analysis of civil engineering projects.
• Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Gather project requirements and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Support project execution as part of a project team.
• Plan, budget, and schedule to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Document client design decisions and monitor progress and fees.
• Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior staff on practical solutions.
• Conduct in-process design reviews and implement quality control.
