AI Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer, Team Leader to head our Bridge Inspection group in the Northeast. Lead inspections, with potential involvement in load rating and design on new projects, working in a fast-paced, collaborative firm.

Ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years in bridge inspection, and a NJ/NY P.E. license preferred. The role offers growth, strong benefits, and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• P.E. license in NJ or NY preferred.
• 5+ years of bridge inspection experience.
• Completed the NHI two-week Bridge Inspector training or refresher within last 5 years.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and CombIS (Bentley AssetWise).
• Bridge load rating and LARS and/or AASHTOWare BrR experience is a plus.
• Prior NJ DOT experience strongly preferred.
• NHI courses for NSTM/FCM, Scour, LRFR load rating are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Bridge, tunnel, and ancillary structure inspections and load ratings.
• Prepare schedules, write inspection reports, QA/QC and assist with coordination.
• Perform structural analyses, calculations, and prepare plans per regulations.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and provisions.
• Site visits and onsite structure inspections.
• Assist PMs with schedules, budgets, and proposals.
• Perform engineering tasks on bridge design and related projects as time allows.
• Design steel, concrete, and timber bridge elements and related structures as time allows.
