Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspection Team Leader for the New England Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team with offices in Boston and Worcester, MA, to lead inspections, oversee projects, and mentor engineers.

This role involves 50% field work and 50% office work, performing structural engineering, reviewing load ratings, using AutoCAD, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in bridge, tunnel or ancillary inspection or design or other infrastructure related work.
• PE Required.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
• Ability to work 50% in the field and 50% in the office.
• Motor Vehicle Record check and a valid Driver’s License is required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with engineers and non-engineering audiences.
• Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on a variety of inspection related projects.
• Work as a Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in the preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Assist with the development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
