Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in Pennsylvania with offices in Philadelphia, Exton, Ephrata, Mechanicsburg. This role combines leadership with hands-on inspection work and technical guidance for junior engineers.

The position emphasizes professional engineering tasks, load ratings, AutoCAD planning, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• NCBI certification current and FHWA training course accepted.
• CBSI certification current.
• 5–10 years in bridge/tunnel inspection or related work.
• PE Certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build.
• Interest in structures and transportation fields to advance skills at WSP.
• Able to perform field work including heights, night shifts and travel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Lead as Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project work.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
• Support a variety of engineering tasks and analyses.
• Assist with field work, research and preliminary design calculations.
• Support cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete assignment-specific training.
• Stay current with structural engineering techniques and practices.
• Adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
