Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on a mix of field inspections and engineering design tasks, with potential to lead and mentor junior staff.

The candidate should have a structural/civil engineering degree, relevant certifications, and 1–3 years of inspection experience. The position may require field work, travel, and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

:Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
:Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification through FHWA approved course (current).
:Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) through PennDOT (current).
:1–3 years of bridge, tunnel, or ancillary inspection/design experience.
:Engineer in Training Certification.
:Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and their application to projects.
:Interest in structures/transportation and professional growth within WSP.
:Field work capability including heights, adverse weather, and night work.
:Ability to travel and work schedules beyond typical weeks.

Responsibilities

:Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on a variety of inspection-related projects.
:Assist as Assistant Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel, and Ancillary Inspections.
:Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
:Assist in preparing Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
:Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD/Microstation.
:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
:Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
:Support project documentation and cost proposals.
