Job summary

Stantec’s New York City office is seeking a Bridge Inspector Assistant Team Leader to join the Bridges and Structures Team. This entry-level role offers exposure to a variety of transportation projects and opportunities to grow bridge inspection skills at the NYC Metro scale.

You will support field inspections, coordinate with major clients, and assist in evaluating bridge conditions under supervision. A Civil Engineering background and licensure pursuit are preferred, with flexible hours and

Qualifications

• Completed NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Workshop or 2-week NHI course.
• SPRAT-Certified Level I Technician preferred or willingness to attend training.
• OSHA 30 and Aerial Lift Certified preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Available for flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Field inspection of bridges including suspension bridges, major viaducts, and crossings in NYC Metro.
• Meet the demands of high-profile clients such as NYSDOT, Port Authority, TBTA, and NYCDOT.
• Work with a qualified Inspection Team Leader to perform bridge condition evaluation and documentation.
