Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New York State, including Troy, Valhalla and Goshen offices. The role targets an experienced Team Leader or someone aiming to become one, with responsibilities spanning field leadership, NBIS compliance, and client-facing reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required
• Professional Engineering Certification required
• FHWA/NHI training in bridge inspection required (within past 5 years)
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and NBIS/AASHTO standards
• Ability to lead field teams and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to travel as required by projects

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge inspection teams in NYSDOT and other agencies per NBIS and AASHTO standards.
• Direct field team members and enforce safe operations.
• Prepare and review inspection reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure technical compliance with project standards and specs.
• Train and guide entry-level engineers and junior staff.
• Stay current with latest structural engineering practices.
• Make ethical decisions regarding resources and conduct.
• Perform additional duties as needed by the projects.
