WSP USA is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Deputy Project Manager to support our growing Bridge Inspection Practice in the Washington DC metro area. You will lead complex inspections, evaluate condition and load carrying capacity, and prepare recommendations for owners to repair or replace structures.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer licensure in MD, DC and VA.
• 10+ years of bridge inspection experience.
• Proven management of bridge inspection projects.
• Completion of NHI Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges course.
• Completion of NHI courses (NSTM, LRFR and Scour).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with engineers and non-engineers.
• Independent work capability with QA/QC adherence.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Ability to supervise and mentor staff.
• Time and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the structural engineering discipline and function, ensuring project and site deliverables are achieved within budget.
• Perform engineering review of permit applications, design plans, standards, and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and sound practice.
• Lead large, complex structural projects, manage budgets, track hours and expenses, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Develop business opportunities and ensure successful execution of infrastructure projects within the assigned geography.
• Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings.
• Support long-term strategy and pipeline development for structural engineering in the area.
• Ensure profitable project performance and successful completion within area.
• Assist in annual updates to tactical action plans for the region.
