Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Seattle is seeking a Civil Engineering student for a summer internship. The role is ~40 hours per week for up to 90 days, focusing on civil, structural, industrial, and waterfront infrastructure across the U.S., with emphasis on the West Coast and Pacific Northwest.

You will assist engineers on design tasks, plan production, and site visits to see projects like stormwater and habitat restoration unfold.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Civil Engineering degree (Junior or Senior).
• Detail oriented with ability to learn across projects.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of stormwater hydraulics. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D preferred.
• Willingness to work on varied projects including design and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply civil design skills on projects across the U.S.
• Assist engineers with design tasks, calculations, plan production, and cost estimating.
• Support projects involving stormwater systems, water systems, and habitat restoration.
• Gain exposure to modeling software and multiple disciplines.
• Participate in site visits and internship events with KPFF staff.
