Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to support a major transportation-infrastructure project. You will work on concrete and steel bridge design, co-locate at the project office, and regularly visit the construction site to ensure design integrity and schedule adherence.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare senior-review reports, and resolve RFIs/NCRs with strong communication skills and initiative. EI/EIT and a civil/structural degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering and EI/EIT certification are required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transportation infrastructure and bridge design.
• Proficiency with Bentley suite (LEAP/Open Bridge Designer) and related tools.

• Deliver technical and innovative solutions for the design, delivery, and management of critical structural resources
• Co-locate at the project office for a major design-build infrastructure project
• Frequently visit the construction site
• Participate in project progress meetings
• Collaborate with other design disciplines
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve RFIs and NCRs
• Prepare reports for senior engineer review
• Track and meet schedule requirements for deliverables

Requirements

• 5 or more years of professional work experience in transportation infrastructure
• Experience in the design of concrete and steel bridge structures
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• EI/EIT Certification
• Experience with AASHTO design codes
• Proficiency with Bentley/LEAP/Open Bridge Designer, MathCAD, Microsoft Office products, and MicroStation
• Effective problem solving skills
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions
• Ability to work with little direct oversight
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey information to technical and non-technical individuals
