Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Civil/Structural engineer in Illinois to prepare structural calculations, bridge plans, and cost estimates for freight and transit clients. You will design superstructures and retainings walls, and assist in plan development while collaborating with professional engineers.

This entry-level role requires FE certification, a civil/structural degree, 0–2 years of experience, CAD proficiency, and willingness to travel to local offices and job sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
Fundamentals of Engineering exam passed prior to starting role.
0-2 years of engineering experience; rail or bridge experience/interest required.
Prior structural coursework required.
Proficiency with CAD (MicroStation & AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
Strong interest in railroad bridge design.
Availability to occasionally travel to other local offices and job site locations.
