Job summary

Bartlett & West seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead bridge‑focused design projects nationwide. You will seal plans, mentor the team, and coordinate with project managers, clients, and vendors. DOT experience is preferred, with a focus on delivering high‑quality specifications and schedules.

You will supervise staff, manage workloads, and stay current with engineering trends while ensuring project quality and effective communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 8+ years of engineering experience in transportation is expected.
• Professional licensure in required states preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical specialist in structural design for projects.
• Provide internal technical advice to project managers for proposals and client presentations.
• Lead and mentor the structural design team; oversee schedules and workloads.
• Develop scope, cost estimates, and design documents; coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Manage project delivery, QA/QC, and coordination with PMs and clients.
• Oversee production of deliverables and participate in design surveys and plan production.
• Support business development through conferences and client communications.
