Job summary

STV is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join our Carolinas Bridge Practice, with hybrid work options in Columbia, Rock Hill, or Charleston, SC. You will manage bridge projects, perform analysis, design and inspection, and lead structural design on transportation projects.

Candidates should have a PE license in SC, 5+ years of experience, seismic analysis, and proficiency in MicroStation/OpenBridge. Growth opportunities exist within a Top-50 ENR firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience on structural engineering projects; seismic analysis in SC.
• SCDOT/NCDOT/GDOT/rail experience a plus; NBIS certification a plus; maintenance/repair experience a plus.
• PE license in South Carolina required.
• Strong analysis, load rating, and design skills for transportation projects.
• Project management skills to plan and coordinate work to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MicroStation; OpenBridge is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Work as an integral part of the Carolinas Bridge Practice.
• Manage projects involving bridge/structural design; inspect/rehabilitation design for qualified candidates.
• Provide analysis, design, and inspection of bridges and related structures.
• Lead structural design on transportation projects.
• Sign and seal bridge plans as Engineer of Record; manage structural calculations and seismic modeling.
• Support preparation of technical proposals to win work and grow SC Bridge Group.
• Mentor junior staff and foster client relationships to win new business.
