Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer I–III to perform bridge inspection and design work from the Dallas District headquarters in Mesquite, TX. The role supports inspection activities, scour documentation, and bridge or geotechnical projects across our expanding system.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and may advance from Engineer I to III with experience. On-site work, travel up to 10%, and standard full-time hours apply.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Experience in bridge inspection and design.
Knowledge of Bentley’s OpenBridge Designer or geotechnical design software.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and special bridge inspections and condition surveys.
Contribute to design work for concrete/steel bridges and related structures.
Review Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) submissions and shop drawings.
Assist in bridge inspection-related matters and scour documentation.
Provide technical support on-site and during construction.
