Job summary

AECOM in Providence, RI is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will support planning, analysis, design, rehabilitation, and inspections of highway and railroad bridges across the Northeast and the U.S.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with bridge design experience and a desire to develop technical and project management skills. This on-site role offers collaborative work with engineers, planners, and construction professionals on diverse

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis and 6+ years of related experience or equivalent.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Experience in bridge design and transportation structures.
Experience preparing bridge plans, calculations, and technical reports.
Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components and transportation structures.
Prepare bridge design calculations, contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Develop and review design documents per AASHTO, DOT, AREMA standards.
Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, MIDAS Civil, LARSA, SAP2000, CSiBridge or similar tools.
Coordinate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and construction disciplines.
Support bridge inspections, load ratings, and rehabilitation projects.
Participate in quality control reviews and ensure compliance with AECOM procedures.
Assist with proposals, technical reports, and client presentations.
Mentor entry-level engineers and contribute to the bridge team’s development.
