AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspector in our Providence, Rhode Island office. This role involves field inspections per RIDOT and FHWA standards, plus performing analyses and preparing rehabilitation plans. Minimum requirements include a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and an E.I.T. license, with preferred experience in bridge load rating and software tools such as AutoCAD,

Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Boston on October 21-22, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Boston office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspector in Providence, Rhode Island office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs field inspections according to requirements of the RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and the FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards.
• Perform bridge analyses and load rating calculations including 3D FEM modeling as needed.
• Prepare bridge rehabilitation plans and document development as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering plus none of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Motivated interest in Bridge inspection as a Team Member in the State of Rhode Island.
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) License.
• Bridge Load Rating experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CsiBridge, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, AASHTOware BrM/BrR and MDX is a plus.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, work adjacent to live traffic, work in or around water and be able to work under adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to work overnight as required, including work within the railroad right-of-way.
• Prepares inspection reports.
• Must be able to work at heights, on ladders, on scaffolding and on aerial lifts, or other bridge inspection access equipment and must be able to climb.

Additional Information

• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• Relocation is not available for this position.

To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $80000 to $90000.
