AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer III to be based in Boston, MA, with alternative locations in Chelmsford, MA or Manchester, NH. The role leads design and project management for bridge projects in Massachusetts and the Northeast region, offering diverse projects, technical challenges, and career growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate will oversee design tasks, provide transportation-focused technical input, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years of experience in transportation structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and willingness to reciprocity in project jurisdictions.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.
• Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects.
• Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.
• Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing structural steel, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete.
• Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
• Load evaluation of existing bridges.
• Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
