Job summary

BL Companies seeks a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation group. The role focuses on bridge design and inspection, offering hands-on experience and opportunities for career growth, with hybrid work options in Warwick, RI and surrounding offices.

Qualified candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree with 3–6 years of bridge experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation. EIT preferred; strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Previous experience with Departments of Transportation, public works agencies, or transportation design consultants are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and other transportation structures.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Use CAD software to develop engineering drawings and plans.
• Perform bridge inspections which include field work.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on various projects.
