Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Bridge Engineer for our Roanoke, Virginia office. You will contribute to design from concept through construction support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role starts Spring/Summer 2027 and requires a Civil/Structural degree from an ABET-accredited program. EIT certification is preferred, with strong communication and software skills to support highway and railroad bridge projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in structural analysis and design of highway, rail, and pedestrian bridges per standards.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and documentation under senior engineers.
• Develop bridge plans and construction details using CAD/2D/3D tools.
• Support load ratings, inspections, and condition assessments of existing bridges.
• Contribute to cost estimates and project documentation.
