Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer in Training (E.I.) for the Southeast Region, based in Tampa, FL or Orlando, FL. A Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required, and an EIT certification is essential.

You will support a team on designs, studies, and deliverables for highway bridges and related structures. The role involves collaborating with the Structures Team, performing design tasks, and using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Open Bridge to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
EIT certification required for eligibility.
FDOT experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of structural engineering fundamentals.
Willingness to work in a collaborative Structures Team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform assignments applying basic structural engineering principles.
Assist design and repair of bridges and walls; support load ratings and drawings.
Aid in preparing quantities, estimates, and project deliverables.
Analyze structures using structural software tools.
Prepare calculations and drawings for steel and concrete elements.
Produce structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Collaborate with the Structures Team on project tasks.
