Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP seeks an Entry Level Bridge Engineer for our Mechanicsburg, PA office. You will help prepare designs and contract documents for bridge repairs or replacements and support construction activities by reviewing shop drawings and performing field inspections.

The role requires an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree; EIT is preferred. Knowledge of AASHTO and PennDOT bridge specs, and experience with bridge software and MicroStation, are desirable, with a

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required
• EIT certification preferred
• Knowledge of AASHTO and PennDOT bridge specifications preferred
• Experience with bridge design software preferred
• Experience with bridge safety inspections a plus
• Hands-on experience with MicroStation a plus
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
• Exceptional communication and organization skills
• Ability for limited travel

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and contract documents for the repair or replacement of bridge structures
• Provide construction support such as reviewing shop drawings
• Perform field inspections of highway bridges and document defects
• Prepare reports and compute load ratings for various bridge types
