Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior bridge engineer to lead national long-span and complex bridge projects across the Americas. You will engage clients, perform advanced planning, analysis and design, and guide multi-discipline teams from concept to construction.

You will also mentor staff, participate in business development and proposals, and help uphold quality, schedule, and budget for major pursuits. A PE license and extensive bridge experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in structural engineering or a related discipline.
• PE license with ability to obtain license in multiple states; SE license desirable.
• At least fifteen years of demonstrated professional experience including Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer in charge of final design, construction documents and construction support services.
• Experience in long-span and complex bridges including cable-stayed, arch, segmental, and rehabilitation projects.
• Proven background of technical leadership on complex bridges and leading multi-discipline design teams.

Responsibilities

• Represent Jacobs' technical capabilities in assigned locations and markets.
• Serve as Technical/Task Lead on long-span and complex bridge projects; lead staff in analysis and design; sign and seal documents as allowed by license.
• Plan and coordinate staffing across offices; direct project engineers and technicians to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ensure quality and coordinate with clients; manage interfaces and uphold Jacobs' reputation.
• Mentor staff and contribute to technical thought leadership and business development.
