DRMP’s Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division is growing statewide. We hire Transportation Technicians and CEI Inspectors at all levels to support roadway and bridge construction projects. Most work is on project sites with assignments discussed during recruitment.

You’ll assist engineers and inspection teams with field inspection, sampling, documentation, and layout verification, performing complex tasks suited to your level and experience. Training and mentoring are available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years construction inspection experience (1+ year in roadway or bridge) or an associate degree with 2+ years inspection.
• Certifications required vary by assignment and must be obtained.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Knowledge of construction methods, plans, specifications, inspection procedures, and material testing.

Responsabilités

• Inspect construction activities for compliance with contract documents, plans, standards, and specifications.
• Perform required field tests and collect material samples for laboratory testing.
• Prepare daily diaries and reports documenting contractor activities, project progress, and inspection findings.
• Maintain field books, density logs, material reports, quantity records, and pay documentation.
• Measure and verify construction dimensions, alignment, elevations, and quantities.
• Perform construction calculations and prepare documentation for payments and estimates.
• Enter, review, and maintain project reports using computers/tablets and reporting systems.
• Communicate clearly with project personnel and report deficiencies or concerns.
